Congressional candidate Dan Bilzerian has accused President Donald Trump of treason for prioritizing Israel over American interests, claiming this approach led the United States into an unjust war with Iran.

Bilzerian, running for Florida's 6th congressional district, made the explosive charge during an interview with Kim Iversen. "He's putting a foreign nation before America. That's treason," Bilzerian said of the president.

The candidate claimed the U.S. entered the Iran conflict specifically because "Israel was going to strike them first," despite intelligence assessments showing Iran posed no credible threat to American interests. Bilzerian argued this decision endangered American lives for another nation's security concerns.

Bilzerian contended that Israel receives preferential treatment including billions in U.S. aid but never reciprocates with troop support for American military actions. He said this one-sided relationship demonstrates compromised foreign policy.

According to Bilzerian, Trump's lack of honesty was his primary frustration with the president. The candidate said he supported Trump in 2016 but was "adamantly against him" in 2024, correctly predicting Trump would lead the country into war with Iran.

Bilzerian also accused politicians generally of committing fraud by making unfulfilled campaign promises without legal consequences. He specifically targeted his opponent, incumbent Randy Fine, claiming Fine voted against legislation restricting dual citizenship that he now champions, calling it "performative nonsense."

The Florida candidate said his criticism of Israel cost him professionally, including a $750 million business deal and other retaliation. Despite this, he claimed his congressional campaign announcement received 95% positive response despite what he called a TMZ "hit piece" attempting to label him anti-semitic.

Bilzerian holds three citizenships (U.S., St. Kitts, and Armenia) but said they are for travel purposes only and he would support laws requiring only U.S. citizenship for elected office. He argued Jewish people can obtain Israeli citizenship immediately, creating potential conflicts of interest that current dual citizenship laws don't address.

Bilzerian claimed most Americans recognize the injustice of the current situation. "I think there's a huge undercurrent in America that wants change and is tired of putting a foreign nation before America," he said.
